Provide a general overview of the theory being explored identifying key researchers and elements of the perspective on personality.
As we have come to learn so far, there are a variety of different points of view on how personality develops. Research continues in each of these areas to help further our understanding of personality. This assignment is an opportunity for you to dig a bit deeper into one of the perspectives.
Using current (no more than 10 years old) empirical research articles (use the Psych Articles database in the Regis Library) write a 3-4 page paper picking a FAKE person like a character in a movie or TV show and compare 2 theories in analyzing that character’s behavior and personality: Cognitive and Social Cognitive; Trait and Skill; Humanistic; Existential; or Person-Situation Interactionist (Humanistic; Existential and Person-Situation will be introduced in Week Five). Excellent Papers will fully meet the criteria below:
· Provide a general overview of the theory being explored identifying key researchers and elements of the perspective on personality.
· Cite at least four 3 recent empirical research articles describing current research in the field of personality theory
· Summarize the behavior and personality of the character by using the 2 theories to apply hypotheses of that character’s actions
· Identify specific applications of how the research could be used to better understand a social issue important to you
· Actively integrate concepts from relevant chapters of your text to illustrate your examples and insights.
· Craft a well-developed introduction, body, and conclusion as the structure of the paper.
· Check that paper is grammatically and mechanically sound and free of spelling errors; apply content from the reading and personal reflections.
· Apply an empirical writing style omitting all use of first person (e.g. I, me, my, etc.).
