During my period as a practicum football coach I encountered a problem with my students. The problem was related to the gym class and this really affected our team to such an extent that I almost regretted for being their coach. The school gym lacked the necessary equipment that was supposed to be used by the players to successfully make them physically fit for their upcoming game. They trained really hard but to no avail, they were defeated and hence were very humiliated at as they were beaten at their own home ground (Bedell & Lennox, 2008). Therefore, this proved to them that the gym ought to be refurnished in order to boost their next game and avoid any future embarrassments.

As a result of lack of modernized equipments to assist football players to play well and even win, I decided to opt for a solution to this case. After the game I went straight to the principal/ athletics director sought out his assistance on the problem. We discussed at a length and decided that the best option was to purchase new equipments to assist the players. Moreover, we agreed with the players to participate fully in the gym class when the equipments were to be brought (Manthei, 2007). The machines that ought to be purchased are the treadmills, weights and bars, and their cost is approximated to be $500, 000.

It is seen that 50% of the school revenue will be contributed by the school staff and the rest by parents in order to give players gym facilities. These equipments are needed by the school as they will contribute to a positive impact to the school team. Furthermore, since there is enough room for the equipments; both players and the school will benefit when we get positive results (Proctor, 2010). Thus, I proposed to the team that they ought to work as a team regardless of where they come from and this was definitely entailed to boost their performance.

According to experts, the best thing to do about the gym is to work together as a school team and purchase the equipments as fast as possible if the school desires to improve on its performance. They also propose that working as one is the best way to succeed and win a game; therefore, as the school coach, one is supposed to put both juniors and seniors to work together. In event of this, the school team will perform well as there is support from all sides. Thus, the best strategy to enable the team perform well is to encourage and support the team through purchasing for them gym facilities (Proctor, 2010). Furthermore, involving parents will definitely contribute to a better team and good results.

Another problem that I encountered while at the school is the issue of insolence among the players. This was seen that most players don’t respect each other due to coming from different backgrounds. This influenced them not to play as a team and in the end contributed to bad results. I observed this go on for the first three months that I started working there as a football coach (Bedell & Lennox, 2008). Moreover, while they were playing they seemed not assist each other as a team is supposed to do in order to win.

The issue of insolence was contributing to a great loss to the team and thus a solution ought to be made. Therefore, I decided to opt for a counseling tutor that was supposed to teach them on the importance of working as a team. This meant that the school had to employ one and this was an extra cost that had to be taken in order to enable the team perform well. I went to the school principal and proposed the solution to the school team failure contributor and we came to a conclusion. It was seen that the school needed at least $50,827 in order to high a qualified tutor to assist players perform well (Manthei, 2007). This was supposed to be got from the school kit and from well wishers.

According to experts, the school should have a team management plan that emphasizes on the importance of rules and what would happen in case one disregards the laid down regulations. Moreover, motivating players to work as a team is also a key factor that would generate a positive impact to the team. Therefore, as compared to my thought concerning insolence; I would say that coming up with a team management plan and motivating football players is the best option as it clearly shows that importance of respecting each team player (Proctor, 2010). This is so as it builds the team not just physically but also psychologically.

The paper indicates that coming up with strategies that solve problems that affect a school team is a benefit to both the society and the school. This is so as students get to grow both physically and wise thinkers. Thus, solving problems as a team is the best path that can lead one to a positive result. This also shows that in every problem, a solution is always there to make things look better and convenient for the proposed victims (Manthei, 2007). This has clearly being indicated by football coach and his team players.
