The mission of police officers is complex as well as dangerous, thus the need to incorporate technology as a beneficial tool (Thibault & Lynch & McBride, 2011).

The use of high tech technology is still not taking place by most law enforcement officers. Management of integration should take place efficiently, as there is a risk of the police resisting it. The resistance is brought about by cumbersome and intrusive use of technology. Concerns also exist in matters related to cost, security and privacy of the technology (Thibault & Lynch & McBride, 2011). Those in police management should come up with strategies, which ensure that resistance does not occur. Policies should be implemented to ensure that police officers are aware of what is expected of them.

In order to become proactive, there should be an imperative, which ensures that information is shared. All institutions, which deal with matters related to crime prevention, should be included in the same entity. Also, in police management, a policy is needed because of the many benefits it has. It should lay out the procedures to be followed in case of any impeding problems. A system, which informs police officers of any crime, ought to exist (Thibault & Lynch & McBride, 2011).

Police officers should be trained to have an orientation, which is humane. This means that they will become concerned and compassionate about others. The police should become integrated to the environment they work at. They should form bonds with the community members for the wellbeing of everyone involved. When trust exists between the police and society, crime prevention becomes easier (Thibault & Lynch & McBride, 2011). The police should use polices, methods and strategies, which are effective. They should constantly carry out research, to ensure that everything they do is allowed and agreeable by the law.

It has been found out in many studies that policing based on hotspots is essential in crime prevention. Interventions should be used by the police all the time. This can occur through arrests which are proactive, policing which is problem oriented, patrols, among others. This method is extremely popular and should be implemented by executives in the police force. The police should make it their priority to know where crime is bound to happen. This can be in shops, streets, malls, among others. Sometime back, the police were not proactive in their jobs and the result was that many crimes took place. Today, strategies, which are crime based, focus on ensuring that hot spots for crime are known (Thibault & Lynch & McBride, 2011). Police officers now have information regarding why certain locations are prone to high rates of crime. This means that crimes should be prevented and the police should come up with effective ways of doing that.
