Communication, Teamwork, and CollaborationIntroductionThe paper seeks to discuss the nature and implications of communication, teamwork and collaborating with organizations. Communication involves the passage of message to different persons with the organization (Fewster-Thuente, 2015). Collaboration involves engaging two or more persons or work groups together through the sharing of ideas and information to achieve a certain goal. Largely, collaboration can be defined as teamwork, which has been taken to a higher level. Teamwork involves the visible coming together of the persons in accomplishing certain tasks and programs (Boykins, 2014). Considering the changes in the technology, which includes high-speed internet and teleconferencing, collaboration, communication, and teamwork, has been more effective and easy. Therefore, collaboration helps in promoting teamwork and effective communication within the workplace.Importance of Teamwork and Collaboration in NursingIn nursing, communication, teamwork, and collaboration are important in enhancing the productivity of the medical personnel and practitioners with the hospitals. According to Fewster-Thuente (2015), the safety of the patients and provision of quality patient care relies on the teamwork, communication, and collaborative working environment. The optimization of team performance and collaboration is appropriate in developing patient-centered models to deliver quality care and education learning. Thus, collaborative efforts and communication will help the nurses to deliver quality care to the hospitals.Importance of Teamwork and Collaboration in My Work SettingIn my work setting, teamwork and collaboration are critical in enhancing growth and productivity of the organization. The created work teams improve the ability of the employees to perform the various tasks within the organization. The staff can integrate with each other and other understanding how to work together. Therefore, teamwork is aimed at improving the overall output of the employees.Working as a TeamWorking as a team provides diverse skills and experiences, which covers the frustrations and the limitations of the individual employees within the team (Fewster-Thuente, 2015).
