It is extremely hard for people in Bangladesh to find safe water for drinking. Distributing the Sunspring units to the locals and other companies will be a good opportunity for both the suppliers and the people living in Bangladesh. The business will be a big hit and the people of Bangladesh will have access to clean and safe drinking water.
There are a few people providing water but it is either not safe for drinking or very expensive. The first step is to look for a local intermediary that will find people who are willing to buy the Sunspring units. Afterwards emergency stations would be created to provide safe drinking water to the locals on a daily basis and at an affordable price.
When compared to Costa Rica in risk analysis, Bangladesh was a better fit for this type of units. Though Bangladesh is a corrupt country making it hard for business to thrive, it is a hot country with very poor infrastructure which makes it the perfect place to set up the Sunspring Unit. With these kinds of harsh conditions, Sunspring units will be a big hit. Water will be conveniently available because the Sunspring units utilize solar energy.
The major risk experienced in this area is the unavailability of tools to fix high tech items which poses a great risk of maintenance. Offering training would be a requirement to ensure that the people who buy the Sunspring units can fix them or at least contact someone who will fix them as soon as possible.
Sunspring units are not affected by natural disasters. In addition to working during the night and on a cloudy day, Sunspring units work after floods and/or hurricanes (rated for level 5 hurricanes). This is because the units are constantly saving energy.
Sunspring units do not require a lot of resources to operate. They can be operated by anyone even without basic knowledge and are also easy to maintain. However, a bit of training is required for maintenance. It is therefore beneficial to people of different socio-economic status. They are also small in size and can be placed vertically. They are easy to transport from one place to another creating ease in portability.
Sunspring units have a quick payback period and long product life (5,000
Gallon/day for 10 years). One Sunspring unit costs $25,000 and lasts for 10 years. If one decides to have the unit as a source of capital so that they could be selling safe drinking water to the locals, then they would have a payback period of 4 months if they sold the water at an average of 4 cents a gallon which is 20% of the price per gallon in Haiti.
Sunspring units are certified by World Quality Association for quality control. Every drop of water is microbiologically safe for drinking. This makes the units more appealing to the locals who have had a problem with accessing clean and safe drinking water. Sunspring units are one of their kinds and this gives it a first mover advantage. It is the first product of its kind to be introduced in Bangladesh making it gain a competitive advantage over those who will attempt to penetrate the market later.
