Snow Plowing Communication

Even though, snow plowing is a normal occurrence, how it is done in this campus is imposing a lot of problems to us (campus community: students, lecturers, subordinates and administrators). The process is mostly wrong timed and poorly communicated thereby by exposing us to parking inconveniences and improper fines due to parking ban violations. It is, therefore, our plea as that proper communication and timings be implied to remedy these snow-plow related problems. Information on the snow plow timings, optional parking areas to be used during the parking days as well as on the parking bans during such periods should timely and properly be availed to us.

The campus’ social media pages like the Official Facebook account and Twitter handle should be updated with this information at least two-weeks to the actual undertaking. This will adequately inform the entire campus community on when the process will be undertaken. In addition to optional parking zones, during such days and even the implied parking bans thereby offering guidance and mitigating cases of unnecessary parking ban violations. The use of social media will be appropriate since almost everyone use social media currently. At least 90% of learner or employees of this campus are members of these official campus social media pages (Thompson 14). Again, there should be directional signposts offering guidance/directions on how to reach the recommended/optional parking zones (Ellis, Direnzo & Barber 43).

Even though, majority of the campus members will be able to get the information from the social media, we cannot rule out the possibility of visitors and fresh comrades. The directional sign posts will in this case be appropriate to guide them onto the available parking options. We should also be given a chance to give comments (on the social media or suggestion boxes) on our views/experiences based on the new snow plow communication and timing interventions.
