Duties and responsibilities

It is the duty of a Security Manager to take care of all the security operations of a business, enforcing and developing various security policies ensuring safety and security for its visitors and employees. He is responsible for providing a suitable admission and defending the integrity and confidentiality of an organization and standard operating procedures as well the related policies. The security manager is responsible for providing vital corporate support; implementing and developing personnel security plans. His duties include; monitoring and evaluating unit performance; creating and maintaining customer relationship; advising and counseling as well as providing training and guidelines for coordinators (Senwaald, 2011).

Hiring procedure

All the security officers undergo a detailed background check up as well as completing a number of interviews and exams before they receive their employment. The extensive period required by the state includes every two years there should be re-certification of armed guards and the re-certification classes takes every 6 months.

When training security, a company’s training manual should be used to provide information on general procedures and policies. A company training manual includes information on internal procedures and processes, instructions on using company’s information for the management system, safety and emergency procedures. In addition it includes the work place hazards regarding the work place ( Kovacich, 2003).
