Over the last seven weeks, we have explored various topics as they relate to health statistics and research methods. The focus of this assignment is to create the outline for your proposed capstone project.
A capstone project, also called a capstone experience, culminating project, or senior exhibition, is a multifaceted assignment that serves as a culminating academic and intellectual experience for students at the end of an academic program or learning-pathway experience. Similar in some ways to a thesis, capstone projects take a wide variety of forms, but most are long-term investigative projects that culminate in a final product, presentation, or performance. Capstone projects encourage critical thinking, problem solving, and skills such as oral communication, public speaking, research skills, media literacy, teamwork, planning, self-sufficiency, and goal setting—i.e. skills required of a successful healthcare executive. Capstone projects are also interdisciplinary, in the sense that they require students to apply skills or investigate issues across many different subject areas or domains of knowledge. Capstone projects also tend to encourage students to connect their projects to community issues or problems, and to integrate outside-of-school learning experiences, including activities such as interviews, scientific observations, or internships.

Your capstone project, completed in HCAD 670 – Healthcare Administration Capstone, will be to design and document a product, facility, organizational entity (e.g. a department or service line), project, or service that addresses a need in healthcare.
Deliverable
Submit a two to three (3) page APA-formatted proposal along with cover and reference pages. At a minimum, your outline must include the items listed below. Your outline is due in Week 8, no later than Sunday, 11:59 p.m. EDT. Please note that this is an individual assignment. Once you reach your HCAD 670 or HIMS 670 course you will be provided with additional instructions on how to apply your HIMS 650 assignment to those courses.
