Risk Management Program Analysis Part Two
Risk management program plays a critical role in ensuring that the safety of patients and workers in the health sector is given priority. The key objective of the program is to ensure that each stakeholder in the healthcare plays a part towards fostering the safety of patients. Teamwork and participation among volunteers, management, provider and healthcare staffs are important for an effective and efficient risk management program. The risk management program will be implemented through a well-coordinated organizational activities and functions of various departments. Thus, this paper will analyze the newly established risk management program and how it will be implemented. Functions of risk management program The new risk management program entails four key areas that need to be considered during its implementation. Firstly, the healthcare institutions should heavily invest more time and money in audits. The auditing of medical services will prevent medical malpractice claims to a great extent by lowering the medical error incidents. According to the most recent research studies, medical errors are the potential sources of risks to both patients and health workers. Medical errors take place as a result of negligence by health workers at their place (Harris & Younggren, 2011). For instance, failing to adhere to set procedures and rules while attending to a patient may cause potential risks. Medical practitioners use very dangerous chemicals or equipment while carrying out duties which may impact negatively if mishandled.
