1. Read through my powerpoint carefully: Lecture 7 – Social Justice, Social Movements, and Strategies for Dismantling Oppression.ppt
2. Then, using the list of “Examples of Contemporary Social Justice Movements” from the powerpoint Lecture 7, CHOOSE a social justice movement (e.g. the racial justice movement or Movement for Black Lives, women’s rights movement, LGBTQ+ rights movement, etc etc) or a specific group or organization, (e.g. Black Lives Matter, National Organization of Women, Audre Lorde Project, etc etc) to research.
3. Then on this week’s DB, please answer the following questions (in your OWN words; DO NOT plagiarize and CITE all your references):
- Why you chose this movement or organization
- How/why/when the group/movement started
- Issues/campaigns they are working on today
- How to get involved
