BUS510 Strayer University Academic Honesty Paper

Remediation Assignment on Academic Honesty
Presenting other people’s thoughts, words and ideas as one’s own, or appearing to do so, is
plagiarism. This is a serious infraction of Capella University academic honesty and integrity policies.
In addition, trainees in the field of psychology are expected to demonstrate a high level of ethical
conduct, in accordance with the trust that is placed in us by the public. Further, national and
international laws attempt to protect individuals’ ideas through copyright laws and guidelines. As a
member of these communities, you are expected to maintain the utmost integrity in your academic as
well as applied work. Due to our recent concerns about your failure to properly acknowledge other
writers’ ideas contained within one of your academic papers, you are being given an opportunity to
engage in a comprehensive remediation plan.
This remediation plan has several parts, all of which you will need to complete to successfully fulfill
this plan. This assignment has been designed to help you assess your strengths and weaknesses as
a writer, to deepen your understanding of the appropriate procedures for citing others’ ideas, to
increase your awareness of the expectations about ethics and integrity in academia and the field of
professional psychology, and to integrate these ideas into your own writing and conduct.
