Technology will affect our future Society
Technology is taking away our humanity although it also have improved many lives. Technology for many of us is just a way of solving a problem or resolving real world problems. It does make it a lot of things possible that would never be without technology these days. Like chatting with a family member miles away and even having the option of seeing each other on camera like they are just next to one another. Things like that make millions of humankind a lot easier. I myself think that technology is one of the greatest inventions created though there are some side effects. It has made people lazy, sometimes I can’t believe that we have bathroom that have toilets that flush without us having to press any bottom and sometimes it happens when not at the right time. However, it helps us to make our life easier and faster… like anything we do in life, we have to maintain control and use what these technology has to offer responsible and with limits. It has also grown ridiculously over the past year on the economic side. It has generated millions of jobs as well many geniuses has been discovered but will this brilliant ideas year from now affect lives eventually? What will happen to the job marked? Will robots take over these jobs? Will affect the kids?
Technology does help but will continue helping the society many years from now? In his book How Societies Choose to Succeed or Fail, Jared Diamond stated “technology will save us” or “the environment must be balanced against the economy” Diamond didn’t say that the world eventually will get destroyed but he did stated many bad things yet to come. Most of the society doesn’t believe this risk but we should realize this fact and do something about it before it is too late. It is clear that this view will be criticized or even ignored. Nonetheless, companies have taken the spot of workers; machines are doing the job that many workers used to do. Going forward machines will take a lead causing many issues to our society. Less jobs will increase affecting household incomes.
People eventually will have to change their careers due to this fact. As David Clark a senior scientist at MIT Computer Science points out that his wife “convinced him not to use any slikes during his talks because Cinceor never heard of powerpoint”. Technology it’s affecting companies today, and also the society with the Internet growing ridiculously he said. Another serious and very commom problem is privacy. Some of these networking websites involves a lot of personal information; because of that, teenagers are usually sharing their personal info to millions of people, which can become a huge issue in their lives. Clark stated on his lecture: Some people favor strong privacy measures, while some “man in a trench coat who’s concerned with security, but the kind that has ‘national’ in front of it” Another serious their lives. For example: to create a page on Facebook a person automatically has to shares location, name, personal email, sometimes school name and location, work info and many more that can lead to very complicated problems. Additionally, people usually don’t see or they simply don’t pay attention to the future consequences when many of them have their personal information exposed to many of strangers. Parents aren’t educated enough to know how to control their kids networking lifestyle. Clark in one of his lectures mentioned about security and that how some people favor strong privacy measures and some don’t care much.
