The importance of employees in any institution cannot be gainsaid as far as the success and sustainability of the institution in the long-term and the short-term is concerned. Indeed, employees determine the production levels of institution, quality of the products, as well as the manner in which the institution is perceived by the public. This underlines the importance of making every effort to curb employee turnover in Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

It goes without saying that a large proportion of employee turnover may be attributed to the payment structures, in which case a reexamination of the same would be imperative. This is especially considering that salaries and wage scales have a bearing on employee satisfaction in any institution (Mathis & Jackson, 2008). However, this exercise should not be undertaken without the input of employees and professors. Carrying out a survey on the same would be imperative as it would allow for the employees and professors to incorporate their input and air their views on areas that they would want improved (Mathis & Jackson, 2008). Seeking the views of employees sends the message that they are valuable assets to the institution, in which case their morale and job satisfaction in the institution would be improved. This would, undoubtedly, result in a reduction in the turnover rates.

Needless to say, this inclusiveness in the decision-making would have an impact on the quality of education offered in the institution. In instances where employees do not feel as if they are sufficiently appreciated, they tend to seek exit strategies and concentrating on finding opportunities outside the institution. However, the increased morale and satisfaction in this education institution would result in enhanced quality of education, as well as any other services that are offered in the institution (Mathis & Jackson, 2008). This happens as employees feel that they own the process, in which case they dedicate their all to their work.
